Thank you all for coming to our successful launch of MY Occasions on Wednesday 25th October! It was great to see so many new faces and have all your support. Our photographer who chronicled the whole event took some brilliant photos and they will be on the web by Monday so keep a look out. On Thursday 18th May we hosted a Notting Hill party at the BlagClub where we raised £750 for charity. We partied the night away in this cosy first floor bar and the evening even ended in cross-dressing, so people really let their hair down! LaDonna Hall from 'The Ordinance' stunned the crowd with her excellent live acoustic set and Ben Corlett got everyone dancing with his famous DJ mix. It was a great night to say the least and thank you everyone for coming. This event alone raised £750 for the charity, Action Aid, so thank you on their behalf, too.

We ran two extremely successful speed dating events this summer. Our events appeal to both seasoned speed daters and those who are new to the game, who say they find it easy to get into the swing of things with our help. Many satisfied speed daters have noted that it is easy to relax and really get to know people at our events. We have developed a close relationship with a bar in Farringdon which is perfectly laid out for romantic encounters, with comfy sofas, fairy lights and lovers' corners to hide away. Our first speed dating event raised £1000 for Action Aid.

On Wednesday 22nd November MYOccasions hosted their first ever language exchange party to great acclaim. Equal numbers of French and English people of a mixed age group attended and were allocated a set table according to their interests. The evening took off with a French and English quiz where each table pooled their knowledge together. This was then followed by 30 minutes of French spoken at each table. A break followed where everyone changed tables according to the second table plan and had 30 minutes of English speaking. There were endless supplies of food and a raffle with great prizes including tickets to the highly acclaimed French comedian Dany Boon's show in London. Everyone enjoyed the delicious food and wine followed by mountains of cake! By the end of the evening, everyone was exchanging email addresses so that they could keep in touch with their language buddies and carry on practising well after the event. A great success all round!

New to cycling in London?
On Thursday 29th June M&Y led the way with one of their after-work bike rides round the parks of London. With Y's brilliantly planned route, our group of ten cycled from The Admiralty Arch through all the big parks of London, along the Regent's canal and all the way to the rose garden in Regent's park where we enjoyed a homemade picnic. We settled in a cosy pub in Marylebone and rewarded ourselves with a few pints. This was the perfect evening to end a hard day at work and get some fresh air and exercise whilst enjoying the company of friends and meeting new people. M&Y's after-work bike rides and all-day cycling trips are available on request.
